Description
Type~ Angiosperm Shrub.
Leaves~ Leaves can reach up to 16 inches across.
Flower~ There is a white flower that blooms in the Fall.
Fruit~ Black inedible fruit is grown during the late winter months.
Habitat~ This shrub is grown all over the world either as an indoor plant or an outdoors plant. It requires partial sunlight, but needs to be watered weekly.
Native Area~ Fatsia Japonica is native to Japan.
Ethnobotony
The Japanese Aralia, or Fatsia Japonica, is mostly used as a houseplant. This plant thrives in cool, humid, weather, and does not like the heat, or to be touched. This can cause unrepairable damage to the leaves. Japanese Aralias can also be found in frost-free climates outdoors. This plant needs little attention and only requires regular watering.
