Leaves~ These leaves are evergreens, they are simple with short petioles, and are ovate-shaped.
Flower~ The Rockrose flower ranges in color, but they are all similar in that they have five petals. The flower blooms during Springtime.
Habitat~ This plant is very short lived, mainly because these plants require to be watered regularly through out the summer. You can find this type of plant in areas such as Western Oregon, but its only in time that the flower has bloomed
Native Area~ The Rockrose is native is from the Mediterranean Basin.
Ethnobotony
The Rockrose, or Cistus, prefers a dry, sunny climate, and poor soil.

Rockrose plants are known to survive wildfires, and produce a sticky substance used for incense. One way of collection was letting goats graze and combing the sticky aromatic substance off when it stuck to their beards and legs.
